Gradient Featuring Zoya Pinterest Trio and Nubbs!

I filed down my nails recently as I had a complete break on my middle finger.  I don't even know how I did it.  I was just going about my day and looked down and my nail was missing.  I didn't file my nails down as short as the middle finger as that is just too short for my liking.

I have been wanting to try a gradient manicure using a sponging technique that I saw on The Nailasaurus Blog.  Seriously check out some of her gradients, and other nail art for that matter.  She's awesome! They are perfect which is why I was inspired to try it.  I think mine turned out okay.  I kind of wish the colors I picked were a bit more contrasting.  I had used two of the colors out of the Zoya Pinterest Trio that I got for free...just paid shipping.  Not a bad deal!  The colors I used were Myrta and Kimber.  I don't know how Zoya has those names but they don't have an Amy!!!  I almost didn't post this as I really struggled with cleanup on this.  Sponging is a bit messy and my cuticles are a little dry so it made it hard to remove some of the polish.  I figure if I put this as a post in my blog and I do another one at a later time it will be nice to see if I improve! :)

Thanks for stopping by to look.  Hope you have a good week!

Jelly Dotticure Sandwich??!

So I recently got some dotting tools off of eBay and I wanted to play with them.  I also have been wanting to use a couple of jelly polishes I have from the OPI Texas Collection.  I had refrained from using them before as I had that bruise under my one fingernail and that would have shown right through.  I then was thinking jelly sandwich....but why not use the dots as the "meat" in the sandwich!!?  I really love the way this turned out.  I haven't seen anyone do it before, although I am sure it's been done somewhere!  I used China Glaze Surfin' for Boys as my base, then I used Essie Play Date for the dots with a larger dotting tool.  I then used OPI Guy Meets Gal-Veston on top lastly topped with some Seche Vite.

This is the photo that you can kind of see that it looks like the dots are suspended in the jelly goodness!

Thanks for looking!  I am hoping to get on here a little more soon.  Life has been really busy but I realized I really enjoy doing this blog thing.  :)

Jessica Iridescent Eye, Chanel Peridot Dupe

Today I have one of the several Chanel Peridot dupes.  This is Jessica Iridescent Eye.  I've actually owned this for about two months and I have no idea why I haven't tried it yet!  It's lovely!  I used two coats and topped with Seche Vite.  The other dupes that I know of for this are OPI from the new Spiderman Collection Just Spotted the Lizard and Gap (yes apparently The Gap has nail polish!) in Gold Rush.  I absolutely love when I can find a dupe of a high end nail polish.  I have yet to own a Chanel but I do have several other polishes that are dupes of high end ones!

You can really see the color shift in my pinkie in the above photo.

Do you have any of the above polishes?  I love this one!  I actually have an extra bottle that I will hopefully be included when I reach 100 subscribers on the blog here.

GIVEAWAY to Celebrate 100 Facebook "Likes"

I just wanted to thank all of you that follow my blog and/or are a fan of my Facebook page.  I am still pretty new to this whole blogging thing but I really love it so far.  Thank you for taking the time out to look at a post or even to like my status.  I wanted to do a giveaway to celebrate 100 likes.  Also, I will be doing another giveaway once my blog reaches 100 followers so hopefully that happens one of these days.

A little note, this is open to the US only.  Unfortunately, shipping costs internationally are more and I can't swing that at this time.  I hope to in the future be able to do international.  I need to find out more about the shipping rules for polish in that regard.

The giveaway will end next week Friday.

Onto the giveaway

Good luck!!!

AMAZING!!! Fantasy Fire! Picture heavy!!!

So, I happen to be lucky enough to win Max Factor Fantasy Fire in a giveaway from Set in Lacquer. Check out her blog...it's wonderful!! For those of you that don't know, this polish isn't available in stores in the US.  I know its pretty available in the UK but I'm not sure if it is available elsewhere. This particular polish has been compared to Clarins 230, aka Unicorn Pee.  It is definitely not a dupe but has similar properties.  There are blogs out there that have done comparison.  If you're interested, just fire Google up!

Showcasing this polish requires a lot of pictures in my opinion.  Also, this is more of layering polish.  I've seen lots of pictures of this and people tend to layer it over black and rich blues/purples.  I decided when looking through my collection to layer it over Essie's No More Film.  If you like somewhat darker colors, you need this polish in your life!  It's a blurple and it is easily a one coater!!

Also, I have a swap in progress in which I will get getting a few more bottles of Fantasy Fire.  When I hit 100 subscribers, I'm hoping to do a giveaway that a bottle of this will be included.

So, should we get onto the pictures?

These first pictures are indoors.  You can see how it flashes red.

Outdoor bottle shot!  How gorgeous is that!

Wowza!!!  Isn't this amazing!!!  I can't stop staring at my nails!

Here is a thumb shot facing away from the sun.  You can see how if flashes green.

And here is a thumb shot facing the sun where if flashes red.

If you can get your hands on this polish, get it!!!  It is amazing!!

Enjoy your Sunday!
