Rainbow Favorites Challenge: Purple!!

I'm just going to say it, not only is this my favorite purple but this is my favorite polish that I own!  I don't use it often and I think it's because I don't ever want it to run out.  I really wish I would have gotten a backup!  It is unknown if Cult Nails will be able to have more of this.  See HERE for details.  This was originally released as Unicorn Puke as a limited edition polish and had gold lettering.  It was re-released around Thanksgiving 2011.  I sat on my computer ready to get it and I was so happy I did.  I hope they are able to make it again.  If they do, I will definitely be getting a backup!  Clairvoyant is a purple jelly with TONS of flakies of every color that seems to be possible.

I layered this over Zoya Pinta which is a vampy dark purple creme.

Again, check out what the other ladies picked as their favorite purples.

Rainbow Favorites Challenge: Blue!!

Ahhh...blue!!!  I love me some blue nail polish!  This one was difficult for me to pick because I love so many blues.  Some of my very favorites other than what I picked are Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue, Essie Bikini So Teeny, Essie Bobbing for Baubles.

For this one though, I picked Essie Coat Azure and used OPI Absolutely Alice for an accent finger.  I really love both of these so much!

Check out everyone else's favorite blues with the links below!

Rainbow Challenge: Green!!

Today on the rainbow challenge we are on green.  I am crazy about green and blue and this one was tough for me.  I really love Essie Mojito Madness featured HERE but I went through my collection and tried to pull out other greens that I love.  I decided to go with Zoya Gemma.  Whenever someone asks me what Zoya colors I would recommend, I always include this one.  I have never seen a polish like it.  It is a dusty sort of olive green but with a purple/blue shimmer.  It is very unique!

Check out what the other ladies picked for their favorite green!

Rainbow Challenge: Yellow!

Today we are on yellow for the Rainbow Challenge.  Yellow...ugh!  I like yellow and I think it looks great but finding an easy to work with yellow nail polish is a challenge in itself.  I actually really love the one I picked however, it is a bish to photograph!!!  This is from the same collection as yesterday's orange.  The 2012 China Glaze Neon collection.  This one is Sun-Kissed.  It is a neon yellow with beautiful shimmer in it. It is so impossible to photograph though!!!

Again, see what yellow the other ladies picked for their favorite!

This first picture is from my regular camera.  It is much brighter than this.

This picture is with my phone and a flash, it just came out....odd.

This is another phone picture and this is probably the most accurate as far as color but you can't see the shimmer.

This one was kind of a fail for me as far as being able to photograph correctly.  But I do love the actual color!

Rainbow Challenge! Favorite Red!

Hello!  I am partaking in a fellow blogger challenge that Lacquer Dreams came up with.  We are picking our favorite polishes from the color of the rainbow starting today with red.  I am really not much of a red person.  This is my favorite though.  This is Zoya Sooki.  I did sort of a glitter gradient with Wet N Wild Rockin Rubies!  I unfortunately ran out of sunlight for these pictures.  It really looks so much better in natural light.  Tomorrow is orange and as of this moment, I haven't figured out what I will be wearing yet!  See list below of other bloggers involved in this challenge!

Check out the reds these other bloggers picked!

NOTD: Spoiled Distant Memory

I think I've said it before but I'm on a green and blue polish kick.  I recently picked up some more Spoiled polishes at CVS as they were on sale for 99 cents.  The brush on these is like a MOP!!! If you are interested, I showed a brush comparison in THIS blog post.  I decided to deal with the brush as this color was just one that I really liked.  I took my time and didn't even do cleanup on this one.  Enjoy!

The above photo is without top coat.  This does dry semi-matte. It has a beautiful slight shimmer!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Floam!! (again)

This is my second post with Floam.  I had an urge to wear it for some reason.  This time I layered it over Sally Hansen Pacific Blue.  I had shown my friend a picture of Floam and she said she liked it but would like it better if there was more blue...this is probably what inspired me to wear it.  I had Pacific Blue as an untried.  Why?  I don't know as it is a beautiful bright blue that is a one-coater!  If you like blue, get this one!

Also, Ninja Polish posted yesterday that they are hoping to have a new batch of Floam and Sticks and Stones in the next few days so keep an eye out of you are searching for either one.  A good way is to go to the sight and sign up to be notified when the one(s) you want are back in stock.

Photo time!

Say hi to Buzz Lightyear!  My son loves when he looks at my pictures and sees his toys in them!

Have a good weekend!

Try It On Tuesday

Hello polish lovers!  So I recently noticed there was a group of bloggers that are starting something new called "Try it on Tuesday".  The idea is to use a polish in your collection that is an untried.  I happen to have a lot of untrieds so I LOVED this idea.  It kind of serves two purposes for me.  First, it helps me try my polishes that I bought and liked enough to keep yet have never tried.  Second it also gives me a little push to blog.  I sometimes get overwhelmed with not knowing what kind of manicure to blog about (and of course my life keeps me busy!)

Onto the untried polish that I used.  I am not a big fan of pinks for the most part.  But I had bought Essie Peach Daiquiri as it looked nice in the bottle and online looked good as well.  Plus I am a sucker for Essie polishes.  I just love the cute square bottle and I tend to like the formula of most of the ones I have tried.  I quite like the brush as well!  All in all, I do like this color.  For me, it will probably be more of a toe color.

So, onto the pictures! Also, read to the end to see other bloggers participating in Try It On Tuesday!

Gradient Featuring Zoya Pinterest Trio and Nubbs!

I filed down my nails recently as I had a complete break on my middle finger.  I don't even know how I did it.  I was just going about my day and looked down and my nail was missing.  I didn't file my nails down as short as the middle finger as that is just too short for my liking.

I have been wanting to try a gradient manicure using a sponging technique that I saw on The Nailasaurus Blog.  Seriously check out some of her gradients, and other nail art for that matter.  She's awesome! They are perfect which is why I was inspired to try it.  I think mine turned out okay.  I kind of wish the colors I picked were a bit more contrasting.  I had used two of the colors out of the Zoya Pinterest Trio that I got for free...just paid shipping.  Not a bad deal!  The colors I used were Myrta and Kimber.  I don't know how Zoya has those names but they don't have an Amy!!!  I almost didn't post this as I really struggled with cleanup on this.  Sponging is a bit messy and my cuticles are a little dry so it made it hard to remove some of the polish.  I figure if I put this as a post in my blog and I do another one at a later time it will be nice to see if I improve! :)

Thanks for stopping by to look.  Hope you have a good week!

Jelly Dotticure Sandwich??!

So I recently got some dotting tools off of eBay and I wanted to play with them.  I also have been wanting to use a couple of jelly polishes I have from the OPI Texas Collection.  I had refrained from using them before as I had that bruise under my one fingernail and that would have shown right through.  I then was thinking jelly sandwich....but why not use the dots as the "meat" in the sandwich!!?  I really love the way this turned out.  I haven't seen anyone do it before, although I am sure it's been done somewhere!  I used China Glaze Surfin' for Boys as my base, then I used Essie Play Date for the dots with a larger dotting tool.  I then used OPI Guy Meets Gal-Veston on top lastly topped with some Seche Vite.

This is the photo that you can kind of see that it looks like the dots are suspended in the jelly goodness!

Thanks for looking!  I am hoping to get on here a little more soon.  Life has been really busy but I realized I really enjoy doing this blog thing.  :)
